Even een update
Zolder: De babykamer is behangen (in blauwe ruitjes, zie hieronder.
Hoera!

An update
Baby: 6,5 months or 28 weeks and able to draw faces since this week. If everything keeps going according to plan, I'll keep working for another eight weeks and then it's four weeks until D-Day (which has not been something my children kept into account when deciding on being born, by the way). Our little Flower keeps on growing, so is my belly, and every now and then I enjoy a rare moment of looking forward to meeting our new family member. I want this to happen more often, but there's still something that keeps drawing my attention, which is the
Attic: The nursery has wallpaper now (blue squared wallpaper, see picture below. And no, we don't know if it's a boy), our bed room has walls and a door, but these need to be covered in paper and paint. A cupboard still has to be made and then the attic is finished. We are sleeping next to a cross cut saw, a bag full of plaster and lots of sawdust, while the papering table is still in the nursery with pots of paint.
There are moments when I really wonder whether it will all be finished in time, mainly when both my energy level and mood are below zero. But generally I really admire the progress Ed has been making and the fact that, when the attic is finished, our list of 'things that need to be done in our house' is minimalized, only a few doors here and there and then we can focus on the garden. Hurray!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And why then no pictures of the progress and the mess? Because currently I'm not very able to see the nice things. Only the mess, the boxes and bags of bably clothes that need to be sorted, the cradle that's gathering layers of plaster, wall paper glue and saw dust. I simply have no inspiration to think of things I can make for the baby, things that I can take pictures of or things that I can create anyhow.
So, I gave myself an assigment: find pretty stuff in the house, that show that indeed sometimes I have some creativity left, the flowers here and there, the footstool slipcover I once crocheted and the baby wall paper, my mother and law finally managed to put nicely to the walls. And indeed, it gave me some conviction that it will return, some day.

Liefs!
Ik heb ook geen last van zwangerschapshormonen, masar kan me er wel iets bij voorstellen. Toi toi toi! Komt goed hoor :))
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI guess it's not always easy to have the energy to do anything! But it will work! and if everything is not done in time, it's not so important.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like the blue wallpaper. It's also well for a boy or girl nursery, I think.
Have a nice weekend Debora.
